The high school library

I was just attempting to describe Giles' first reaction to his new post as Sunnydale High librarian. This made me think about my own high school library. It had one. I don't think I ever, ever entered it. Not once. And I was a studious bookish person. I spent many hours in our town library.

It wouldn't surprise me at all to learn that our librarian had been a charismatic Englishman who trained a little slip of a girl to slaughter things with weapons. And that three quarters of the collection comprised histories of the occult in Latin and middle English. It just didn't exist for me.

So I have no problem with the Scoobies doing research parties in the library. I still have to reconcile myself with the fact that every single one of them had utterly clueless absent parents.
