Oh noes! DVD commentary!

The DVD Commentary Meme:

If you've ever watched your favorite dvds, and then found yourself eager to hear exactly what the actors, directors, writers and even production designers thought about making the episode, the movie, or whatever - you'll know sometimes the best parts of dvds are hearing the commentaries. Getting into an actor's feelings about the character they play, getting the background behind a writer's plans and metaphors, even just getting the stupid anecdotal stuff that makes you laugh, it's all good.

Ask me about any story, and I'll do a DVD commentary for it! Satisfy your curiosity!

(Meme infection passed along by mireille719.) You can find stories linked from my 2006 roundup page, with more recent stuff on the first page of the "fiction" tag listing.

I've never done this, and it seems like fun. Plus I haven't posted any fiction since the beginning of the month, and I'm probably not going to have anything finished for another two weeks at least. I feel like I should be posting something. At least those stories are progressing quietly: a couple thousand words into a first draft of the Xander story, and I've made a bunch of notes about my intentions for the remix.

You have too done this! When I saw this meme in someone else's journal, the first thing I thought was, they stole your post mortems from you....

But ok, I'll bite. I vote for a DVD commentary on your Holmes story, the one that first brought me to you, and by extension, Live Journal and active fandom itself....

who really should be writing an epilogue right now. Or helping wee hob clean his room....
Postmortems aren't quite the same. This approach intersperses the writing with the commentary. But check! One "The Adventure of the Displaced Watcher" commentary comin' up!
Hob beat me to asking for "Displaced Watcher" so I'll say "Gas-Ring Alchemy" or "Breaking Glass." :)
Ooh. Hmm! Which to pick? Alchemy is fresher in my mind, but Glass is a deeper story. Hm!

Finishing up "Displaced Watcher" now.
I don't know if you're still up for it, but I'd like commentary for "Breathing."
Absolutely! That'll be an interesting one, because I have a lot to say about mistakes made, opportunities wasted, and some things I liked despite everything.
