Sooper-sekrit Izzard-related animated icon question: have you seen these? Or these? Hee!

I dunno, I just really liked this set of icons by 10000_pixels. Not just the Giles icons! I snagged some Buffy and Xander icons as well. The icon-maker is worried that they're not in, but man, many current trends in icon-making baffle me. I liked the cropping and the coloring a bunch.

Lots of Giles icons! I've been continuing to make them for various contests, with mixed results. Some are gorgeous (see icon with this post); some are fugly and I don't know what I was thinking. Sometimes I like the ones the contest voters don't. E.g, these:



My Photoshop chops have definitely improved. For instance, I now know several ways to lighten dark, crappy screenshots. And I can do that cartooning effect thing. And I am slooowly learning what to do with text. I'm having a bit of a Gill Sans fling at the moment. Also, pastel colors.

My fonts come from a variety of sources, and are mostly purchased from professional designers because I have a secret passion for them. And because making a good font is an incredible amount of work, and people should be paid for hard work.

I own almost all the fonts created by Ethan Dunham of Fonthead Design. The font currently used in my banner is Cult, by designer Timothy Donaldson. I also own Donaldson's Flight, but I haven't used it yet.

WickedFox's manips of Tony Head often make an appearance.

This one was inspired by the True Horror promos over in ash_daily. Just your basic, bland WTF, because everybody needs one of those. New Torchwood in a very few minutes. Um, also:

I think maybe I'm getting the hang of this. The icon is here if you want to snag it. With this one I figured out how to use overlay gradients to achieve certain effects. (I thought some of the other icons in that contest were way better than this, though.)
