It's now posted to summer_of_giles. It's the second in a pair of very different post-Eyghon stories. Well, the first, given how long I've been struggling with this one. I didn't have an ending I considered postable until this morning, and even now I'm not sure about it. It exists in the same storyline in my head as "The Co-Conspirators" and probably even the same storyline as the stories where Giles is married to Jenny and has a kid.

As you saw, I posted a second story today, but at the last second I decided it was too connected to the rest of the stories to be posted to the comm. Anyway, you guys have it and can enjoy it or be vaguely dissatisfied by it. I wanted to do a little setup work for that frothy little BG series and drop a few hints about Uncle Charles. Because I think he got into some more messes than just affairs with actresses at an inappropriate age. Some messes that perhaps require his reluctant heir and his companion the Slayer to have adventures.

On a final note, I'm about to log off, pack away my Macbook, and hop into a car for a long long drive. I start heading east to WriterCon via points scenic this morning. My internet access will be unpredictable, so it might take me a few days to answer comments.
