Buffy blindfolded

Oh yes! Five fictional women who are my heroes

Let's all do this meme!

Delenn, Babylon 5. Her people's leader, until the job to be done required that she give up all her power and do something incredibly brave. She kicks ass from season 1 until long past the series' end.

Scully, The X-Files. Because rationality and a skeptical approach are the engines of scientific progress. And educated, thinking women are cool. I wanna be Scully when I grow up.

Ripley, Alien. Normally women in horror movies are the ones to die, but not Ripley. She turns the convention over. She keeps her head and saves her cat.

Granny Weatherwax, Discworld. Because not all of us have the skills or the opportunities to use guns and swords, but all of us can use headology to wrangle the world into place.

Buffy, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. "Giles, I'm sixteen years old. I don't wanna die." And she goes in to face the Master anyway. That's what a hero does. Keep on kicking demon ass, Buffy.

Delenn rocks, no question of that! I like Ivanova, too, for being a tough officer without descending into bitchiness and complex emotionally without whining/being a weepy female. But Delenn will always be my favorite.

Never watched X-Files. I've probably seen all of Alien, but not all at the same time. For Discworld books, I mostly just read the Nightwatch books.

Buffy is awesome, but not as much so as Delenn or Ivanova. Though that may be my overall love of B5 speaking.
"Only one human captain has survived battle with the Mimbari fleet. He is behind me. You are in front of me. If you value your lives, be somewhere else."

'Nuff said.

Kickass list, babe! I may have to do this one tomorrow.
Ha. Yes, those lines, delivered in typical Delenn fashion, with the implication that she's entirely capable of blasting them to dust herself if she wants. Yay!
