Giles/Xander question

Oh dear

This Giles/Xander thing is going to be too weird to post. Not a lot of hurt/comfort in it, for one thing, plus... it's surreal. The Giles/Ethan ficlet is doing okay, though.

I have no idea what I'm going to do with the Giles/Snape prompt. Er. Um. Maybe I'll write Giles and Death having a cup of tea instead.

In addition to writing a very strange story, I've been drinking tangerine juice mixed with soda water and grenadine. And browsing hilarious pagan bric-a-brac on Amazon: start with one of the more absurd Fluffy Fairy Tarot decks, and go from there. I wish I weren't so addicted to pretty art on stupid cards. I am, however, completely looking forward to the Slayer's Tarot, as designed by Rachel Pollack. I've got some of her Tarot books, and (as you know, Bob), I'm a big fan of Unquenchable Fire.

Now I'm curious. Great.
Maybe I'll post it. If I can salvage it. I can't figure out if it wants to be tragic or comic. Both at once? Post-Grave, post-character death comedy with h/c?
Can one not, er, punch up the h/c? I don't mind weird. Weird is good.
I'll have all day sitting in Business Orientation Meetings to think about this. 300 people in orientation meetings == nothing substantive said, and nothing to keep my mind focused on the braying donkeys at the front of the room. (No posting until tonight, that also means.) For yes, this week is Rush Week! Hazing begins as my new employer attempts to break the spirit of a previously free-thinking, productive small company!
Wow. That sounds . . . soul crushing. Have fun with that.

Do not let the weird stop you, I would say. Weird and new and different is a good thing. Surreal is a good thing, too. Fanfiction can be too conventional at times. Expect more from your readers!

Also, we are seriously short of the G/X.
I'm writing surreal Giles/Anya, as it happens. ;-)

Happy start of the week!
Pollack is kind of a big name in Tarot studies; I have her Shining Tribe Tarot, which she created herself in a sort of untutored faux-Stone Age tribal art style. Nifty.
